I wanted to add built-in shelves to my home office but with wood being as expensive as it is, I did not want to pay for plywood. After evaluating the famous "Billy" Bookcases at Ikea, I had an idea to transform them into custom built-ins! I'm glad to say the idea worked, and I spent less than $300 on the whole project! Details on this project below.👇🏼 For more projects, check out fieldtreasuredesigns.com/blog/

13:25 hi man What kind of clear coat is this? I need it for my garage as well
Here is the link. #commissionsearned : amzn.to/3WqcPpB
@@diywithandrew thank you
And I'm need bacon😂
🥓
Used to use an auto hammer to drive nylon pegs when I built U-Haul trucks. It was actually a good Job to switch to if you were doing a job with a lot of blind hand threading. I wouldn't want to do it forever. After a couple of days covering for a guy I tapped out. My hands and wrists felt numb from the vibration. You definitely want to switch hands after prolonged use.
Wow that is really interesting. Thanks for the comment.
Hello Someone may have asked but I still want to know if there will be tyre marks if cars are parked and driver daily. Thanks muchly.
Hi there. This video will help answer: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later ua-cam.com/video/1RouFd5c4YU/v-deo.html
@@diywithandrew legend, thanks
How do you disassemble
Just do the steps in reverse.
2 questions: 1) Where does the heat blow out from? 2) Does the heat actually feel hot?
Great questions. There is a small vent along top front side where the hot air blows out. Yes, if you turn on the heat setting, it will blow warm air, just like an electric heater. Hope this helps!
@@diywithandrew Out the sides? Groan. I have an antique mantle - dont know how that would work.
There is unfortunately no laser guide. This function should be a must for all new power tools of this kind.
The dewalt shadow line is their version of a laser line and is far superior as the light casts a shadow over the blade giving you a precise line on the material. I like it a lot.
Do I need to follow your steps on degreasers, cleaning with concrete cleaner etc before proceeding to Epoxy step. Just curious if I can clean the garage and fill the gaps and start with epoxy step ? Appreciate your reply. Thanks Andrew!
Totally up to you! Depending on age and how dirty it is I would try to clean it and etch the concrete so the epoxy will stick! I wish you the best on your project!
Where did you purchase the foot print? I’ve been looking but everywhere is sold out.
It was at REI. Unfortunately for some reason this footprint is impossible to find right now. I don’t get it.
Thank you soo much .planning to do mine.so far your Diy is the best we'll explicit. ❤ You said you let it dry after the floor prep for 48hrs So How many days did you take to do this In total.
Thank you! I think it was about a week total.
Waoh this was soo detailed
Haha!
Hey man nice floor! Quick question, just did my floors yesterday. Do you think I can use the rustoleum clear top coat rather than the epoxy shield clear top coat? I just don’t see myself spending another $200 on clear coat
Hey man thanks. Honestly I don’t know. All I know is that the clear coat is hugely important and $200 doesn’t seem like a huge expense to make sure your investment of money and time is solid. I also like the sand mixed in to the epoxy shield to prevent it getting too slippery. Sorry I don’t have more information. I can just say that the last part might be the most important part so choose wisely.
I'm stupid how do I find the link below? I want to build a sofa:)
No problem. Here you go! fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional?layout=profile
Is your table higher than the base on your saw .my bosch table is 1/32 higher than the base of the saw. They said that is normal. My results are level.
Yep I believe that is exactly right and I haven’t had any issues.
#1 thing..............2 week cure with NO PARKING on it. My garage is 10 yrs done......no issues at all.
Awesome!
Brooo 25k followers that's insane! Still a legend from pinecove.
Haha. Thanks dude. Were you a camper or staffer?
Where did you get the shoe rack
Here’s the link to Amazon: (I earn a small commission if you use my link) amzn.to/3LgREkQ
My is like that !! less an 1 year and is broken
Bummer!
That size I would use a grinder
Always nice to have options!
It's for places that you can't fit a grinder-duh!
Pine?
It was Birch.
Is there a benefit to power washing vs just using a hose?
Just a more intense spray to clean more. If the concrete was newer I think k a hose would be just fine.
Nice, but they're not built-ins dude
I guess there are varying degrees of “built in”.
Great job. How long does it survive?
Thanks! Here’s my update video: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later ua-cam.com/video/1RouFd5c4YU/v-deo.html
RTIC coolers are not rotomolded. Thats why theyre "ultralight"
That’s correct about this ultralight cooler. I misspoke in my video.
Best design simple most effective its obvious the benefits. 😊
Right on!
Insane amount of labor. No way.
It’s not for everyone.
Looks good
Thanks!
Andrew - upgrade to Festool? They are in my opinion worse than Makita. However a good instructional video on using the rails. Thank you!
I don’t want to upgrade to festool. I’ve been extremely happy with my Makita! I just hope Makita continues to develop good products in North America.
How do you get it to work? If an old a 100 year man with stood on a ladder and pissed on my head, i would have got better pressure.
Not sure I can help you there. Lol
Thank you!! mine didn’t have instructions either
Wow I have heard this a lot. Glad it helped!
Hi. Love this video! Very helpful! Question: any particular reason u removed veneer and sanded the doors only but not the cabinets? Im starting mine soon and would like to know if the removal and sanding made a difference?.. I was planning on just starting w/ primer 😂
Thanks! We did that because it was peeling. The other areas weren’t peeling and don’t have that veneer so we left them alone. The reason the veneer needed peeled is because it would be obvious even with paint and it doesn’t sand well. Hope that helps.
Im stuck between the 45 and the 52. Im more concerned about the durability of the 52. What are your thoughts on the rigidity of it?
It’s very rigid in my opinion and would hold up well!
Awesome thank you! I've been back and forth between the two and that helps. @@diywithandrew
Get the 65
I just received the tan 20qt and I’m having the same issue its not balanced. Did you end up figuring it out?
Nice
Thanks!
No matter how I tried, I couldn't get the nozzles to attach -- until I saw you attaching them in the video. Thanks!
I’m so glad it helped!!
I have a Ryobi with the same rotating nozzle and it alternates between rotating and just a fixed stream. Not sure why it doesn't rotate constantly as designed but I ended up just using a fixed spray nozzle for the high pressure work.
Nice!
okay, great update.
Thanks!
its june 2024 now. how does it look today?
A few spots it’s chipped just because we are in and out of there everyday but overall great. Here’s an update video to check out: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later ua-cam.com/video/1RouFd5c4YU/v-deo.html
@@diywithandrew okay, thanks!
Fantastic video!
Thanks!
Where did you get those legs from? I like those
Thanks! They are custom from one of my woodworking friends who does incredible work. amosapproved.com
Love the idea, how did you get around the static issues with the duststopper?
Thanks! I’ve never had much issue with the static.
Great video thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I got $8/sq.ft quote from Epoxy guy to do my garage. So total cost would be 8 x 350 sq.ft = $2800.
Sounds like a pretty good quote for $8 a square foot. Just make sure you know exactly what they will use and what the finished product will be. At that price I would ask to see another finished job they have done to verify the quality.
Excellent video!!!!
Thank you!
Directions were missing!!! Thank you for the video! Some hero's don't wear capes!!!!!!
Haha. Glad it helped.
What size rigid vac are you using, clicked the link and it comes up as not available.....
Unfortunately the model I used is now discontinued I believe.
If you want to do two coats of the clear, how long should you wait before applying the second coat? do you know?
I do not but would guess 24/48 hours?
Can be a very professional, he is wearing sandals 😢
I am wearing sandals because I am not a professional and this is my garage. 😊
Seeing as though you only used 1/2 of the pouch of non-skip chemical... do you feel like that was enough?
I believe the pouch was just sand and yes I am happy with the amount I used. Thanks for watching.
This is the one I’m going to build. Most practical, and makes the most sense for my situation. Thank you for sharing! Subbed! 👍
Awesome! I wish you the best on your project.
Etching in flip flops!! Epic
Haha!
I etched my garage barefoot yesterday, Im a legend🤦♂️
